Jess Robert Kuhs
June 27, 1921 August 18, 2004

Services are to be held on Saturday, August 21, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at Autumn 
Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Jess Robert Kuhs, 83, beloved husband, father, and 
grandfather passed away quietly at home in his sleep on August 18, 2004, in 
Bakersfield, CA. 

Jess was born on June 27, 1921. He graduated from Kern County Union High 
School in 1939 and shortly after joined the Air Force where he became a 
decorated fighter pilot. He married Mary Sue Polson on October 26, 1951, in 
Las Vegas and was happily married for 53 years.

Jess enjoyed working on and racing cars, shooting, fishing, riding 
motorcycles, and was a master craftsmen in the fine art of woodworking. He 
will be missed by all who knew him.

Jess is survived by his wife, Mary Sue and sister-in-law, Maxine Dawson of 
Bakersfield; son, Christopher Robert and wife, Paula of Battleground, 
Washington; two grandchildren, Christina Ann Kuhs and Jeffrey Robert Kuhs of 
Washington.

A special thank you to Optimal Hospice Care for all they did during our 
fathers last days.
