He was 51. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, August 20, at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln. Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Mr. Guinn then moved to Los Angeles where he graduated from Santa Fe Springs High School in 1970. From there he followed his spiritual calling by attending Southern California Theological Seminary and received his Bachelor degree in 1989, followed by his Masters degree in Theology in 1990. Mr. Guinn established and pastored several churches throughout the valley including, Valley Bible in Bakersfield, New Life Fellowship in Modesto and Outreach for Christ in Porterville. Randys love for public service transferred him from a 17-year ministry career, to 12 years working for the state. Mr. Guinn started with the Employment Development Department in Job Service where he was able to serve the community while also speaking to schools and counseling children in his free time. Always concerned with furthering his education, Mr. Guinn returned to school receiving his Bachelor degree in Psychology from Liberty University in 1996 and his Masters in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix in 2000. All the while working at Avenal State Prison and eventually returning to EDD as an Employment Program Manager. Mr. Guinn always took the time to live, love, laugh and care. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Guinn; two daughters, Melissa Raffell and Shawna Posey; one son, Cameron Guinn; two stepchildren, Victoria Medellin and Daniel Medellin; one sister, Debra Robledo; his father, Jim Young; and four grandchildren.
