Loretta Joyce Holtzclaw 
Sept. 9, 1931 Aug. 20, 2004

Services are to be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at 
Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, followed by graveside services. Visitation will be 
held on Tuesday, August 24, 2004, 4-8 p.m. 

Joyce graduated from Bakersfield High School. She loved gardening, singing, 
traveling, her family and childrens ministries. She also had 31 foster 
children.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Braxton; mother, Laura Opal and her 
brother, James Grimes. She is survived by her husband of 48 years of marriage, 
Art Holtzclaw; daughters, Dawna Higgins, Nancy Mitchelson; sons, Larry 
Holtzclaw, Jeff Holtzclaw and adopted son, John; sisters and brothers, Laura 
Shaw, Marguerite Summit, Don Grimes and Eldon Grimes; 10 grandchildren and 2 
great-grandchildren.
