Jose Guillermo Weiss
Services: Fri., Aug. 27, 11 a.m.

Services will be held at the Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4201 Wilson 
Road, Friday, August 27, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. for Jose G. Weiss, 88, who passed 
away August 18, 2004 in Redlands, CA. Interment will follow at Greenlawn 
Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Lane. 

Jose G. Weiss was born June 16, 1916 in Cresp, Entre Rios, Argentina and 
emigrated to Pomona, CA in 1953, and came to Bakersfield to raise cattle in 
1972.

Mr. Weiss was an active member in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He served 
the church in various capacities: as an elementary teacher and agriculture 
manager at River Plate University in Argentina and at the College of Medical 
Evangelists in Pomona, CA; as a local elder in the Central Seventh-day 
Adventist Executive Committee; and as a previous member on the Board of 
Directors for the San Joaquin Community Hospital.

Mr. Weiss was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Amalia Bernhardt 
Weiss. Jose is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Lira 
of Staunton, VA, Joe and Treasea of Bakersfield, and Ivan and Barbara of 
Phoenix, AZ; five grandsons, three granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren; 
and a surviving sister, Maria Maier, age 90.

Visitation will begin Thursday, August 26, 2004 from 6-9 p.m., at Greenlawn 
Southwest Memorial Park; and Friday, August 27, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at 
Central Seventh-day Adventist Church.
