She graduated from KCHS in 1947 and was proud of being a member of Aquanets and a skilled majorette with the band. In later years she treasured the gatherings of the Girls of 47 and was grateful for her lifetime friendships with Mary Snow-Lovegreen and Joann Thomas. Lucile was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ramsay McKay Munden and their darling granddaughter, Melanie Marie Munden-Foster. She left us to be with Dad and Mel on August 21, 2004. She is survived by her daughters, Claudia Rickard and Linda Munden; her sons and daughters-in-law, Ramsay Albert Munden and Rose of Spokane, WA; James McKay Munden and Jonie; Patrick Stuart Munden of Bakersfield and her special adopted son, Michael Vincent McGowan and Genette of San Diego, CA. Grandma will be missed by her grandchildren, Scot Rickard, Alyx Munden, Leah Munden, James Munden who is serving in Iraq, Jacob Munden, Rebecca Munden, and numerous nephews and nieces. Lucille is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, MaryAnne and Kenneth Creese of Lancaster, CA and her brother, Joe Walsh and his wife, Jenny of San Bernardino, CA. Mother was a special person who worked hard, loved her family and survived lifes trials with humor and dry wit. She was extremely fond of her cats. There was never a wildcat, orphaned housecat or bobcat from her youth in Caliente, she couldnt talk to or tame. We fondly called her the neighborhood cat lady. The family would like to thank Sister MaryAnne for her gentle support; Bob and her other caregivers in ICU2 at Mercy Hospital. In lieu of flowers we would be grateful if you donate to the Cat People, Optimal Hospice Foundation or a favorite charity in her memory. Graveside services for Lucile Marie Munden will be held Wednesday, August 25, 10:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Southwest.
