Emilie Rothstein
1930 - 2004

Emilie Rothstein died peacefully at home in Bakersfield on August 22, 2004 
after a long illness. She wa born Emilie Sobel and grew up in Meridian, 
Mississippi and after graduation from Meridian High School, she attended the 
University of Alabama and then moved to New York City. She had been a resident 
of Bakersfield since 1969. 

She is survived by her husband, Jack (Jacob) Rothstein; their daughter, Margo; 
four grandchildren, Ross, Eloise, Anna and Elissa and her brother, Julian 
Jackson of New York City.

Second only to her family and friends, her great love was antiques and at one 
time she operated an antiques business. She was also a member of the Womens 
Club and the American Contract Bridge League.

In accordance with her request there will be no public service. In lieu of 
flowers or other tokens of sympathy, her family would prefer donations in her 
honor to the American Cancer Society.
