He graduated from John Marshall High School in Los Angeles in 1936 and started to work for Douglas Aircraft Corp. In 1937 he began working for Lockheed Aircraft Corp. and retired as an industrial engineer in 1984. In 1945 he was drafted into the U.S. Army Infantry Division and was sent to Camp Wolters, TX. He was discharged in 1946 and returned to work at Lockheed. He was a member of the Lockheed Management Club and was President in 1963-1964. In 1955 he became a Mason in Magnolia Park No. 715 Free and Accepted Masons of California. In 1962 he joined Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Los Angeles, CA. In 1962 he also joined the Al Malaikah Shriners in Los Angeles. After moving to Bakersfield in 1989 he joined the Kern County Shrine Club and became a member of the Hharis Marching Unit. He was a member of The American Legion. Jack loved being surrounded by his family, sharing life, activities and telling his stories. He had a lifetime love for camping and fishing in the Eastern Sierras. He also loved the contrast of the beach special family time on his boat sailing in the Newport/Balboa Bay area. He will be missed by Betty, his devoted wife of 32 years; his children, Mary Jensen and her husband, Norm, Marilyn Blackburn and her husband, Nick and his son, Jack II and his wife, Margo; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and their families. He requested that there be no services. Remembrances may be made in his name to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3160 Geneva St., Los Angeles, CA 90020.
