Richard Sosa
Sept. 16, 1926 -- Aug. 21, 2004

Richard Sosa was born on September 16, 1926 in Sinton, Texas to Pilar and Tula 
Sosa and passed away August 21, 2004 in Bakersfield. He was a longtime 
resident of Bakersfield and retired from the grocery retail business after 22 
years. 

Richard was a great dad and grandpa, his grandchildren were his whole life. He 
loved to argue politics, was a huge 49ers fan, who prided himself on his 
expertise with the backyard barbeque, especially his ribs.

Richard is preceded in death by his sister, Mary. Survivors are his daughter 
RoseMary Myers and husband Brett and his daughter Gloria; sons Frank and Jesse 
Sosa; sisters Rebecca, Frances and Margaret; brothers Pete and Adolfo; 
grandchildren Chris, Andrew, Julian, Michael, Stephanie, Brandon and Tara and 
one great-grandson Dwight.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 27, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at 
Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at Hillcrest 
Mortuary.
