Mavis attended Bakersfield area schools and graduated from BHS in Bakersfield. She worked for San Diego Convair Aircraft from 1954 to 1955, then in Bakersfield for Lockheed Aircraft from 1955 to 1958, on to Gro Pak in 1968 and worked as a timekeeper secretary and retired in 1991. Preceding her in death was her father, Charles Ross; mother, Elsie Ross; brother, Charles; and her adored loving son, Danny. Mavis leaves behind her wonderful loving husband of 54 years, John, whom she admired and adored; her brother, Evan and wife, Doris; sister, Bonnie; three sons, Larry and wife, Patty, Randy and wife, Lori and Rodney and wife, Patricia; grand-children, Dwayne and wife, Courtney, David and wife, Ivory, Craig and wife, Penny, Jamie and husband, Nathan, Crystal and husband, Frank and Joey and wife, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Gracee, Clayton, Nathan, Ellie, Ian and Ty; and numerous nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. Mavis (Mom) was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Never putting herself first, giving, caring and doing from her heart to and for everyone. One of her favorite things to do for years was keep an extensive everyday journal of activities and thoughts of her family. She loved her puzzles, crocheting, making cookies for the water company boys and everyone, knick- knacks that were unique, pictures, happy face collection, humorous newsprints, flowers, her Cadillacs, starting with a 1957 to her 1989. She loved taking her morning walks, talking to neighbors and friends, she had endless joys in her life, her most treasured joy was her husband, John. Our hearts will always remember all those precious moments when a mothers love makes all the difference. The world has truly lost a precious beautiful warm, kindhearted lady. youll be forever missed, loved and adored in our hearts and thought about each and every day in everything we do until each and every one of us joins you in Heaven.
