Visitation for Gary James Long will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles 
St.) on Monday evening, August 30, 2004 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and funeral 
services will be held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel on Tuesday morning, 
August 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery 
(River Blvd;). Pastor Ken Armstrong will officiate.

Gary was born August 9, 1954 in Bakersfield and passed away Wednesday on 
August 25, 2004 in Bakersfield. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lona 
Perry Long and he is survived by his father, James E. Long; sister, Sharon 
Long; 3 brothers, Duane McClure, Donny Smith and Danny Long, as well as 
numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & many, many friends.

For 18 years, Gary lived in Oklahoma where he worked as a painter. In 2002, he 
moved back to Bakersfield in order to be near his parents. He was loved by all 
that knew him and he will be deeply missed. For additional service or floral
