Yelvas grandson, Pastor Koby Johns will officiate. Yelva was was born on August 22, 1924 in Randers, Denmark and she passed away on Friday, August 27, 2004 with family by her side. She is preceded in death by her son, Paul Rytter and she is survived by her husband of 59 years, Aksel Rytter; daughter and son-in-law, Inga and Dick Johns; sister, Anee Marie Petersen; sister, Ingrid Petersen; brother, Poul Lyngesen; niece, Lisa Mears and her husband, Larry; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and many friends. Yelva married Askel Rytter on December 25, 1944 and immigrated to Bakersfield with her husband and two children in May of 1952. During her years in Bakersfield, Yelva was always the first to volunter when there was a need. She volunteered her time helping with the mentally and physically handicapped. She was a regular volunteer with the Winter Special Olympics and the Special Olympics Annual Bowling Tournament. Yelva was an active member of the Stockdale Women of the Moose and the Womens Auxillary of the United Commercial Travelers where she once held the office of Grand Councelor of California, Arizona and Nevada. She was an avid bowler, an exceptional dancer, and an accomplished knitter. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, and making knitted gifts for her family and friends. Yelva or Mor Mor as her grandchildren knew her will be remembered for her love, kindness, loyalty, generosity, humility, thoughtfulness and quiet dignity.
