Herman Urias Menendez

Visitation for Herman Urias Menendez will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 
Niles Street) on Wednesday evening September 1, 2004 from 5-8 p.m. and a wake 
service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening in the Basham Funeral Care 
Chapel. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery on Thursday 
morning September 2, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. 

Herman Urias Menendez was born February 18, 1954 in Riverside, California and 
passed away on August 26, 2004 in Bakersfield.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ramon Angel Menendez; his mother, 
Irene Urias Menendez; and his son, Herman Aleman Menendez. Survivors include 
his daughter, Amada Aleman Menendez of Petaluma, CA; sisters, Magda Menendez 
of Bakersfield, Idalia Irene Romero of Fresno, CA; brothers, Jerry Menendez 
and Alex Menendez both of Bakersfield. He is also survived by his Aunt Lupe 
Romero and Uncle Isidro Urias; and his grandmother, Aurelia Urias all of 
Coachella, CA; and a host of other family members and friends.

Herman loved his two children. He enjoyed listening to the Beatles, playing 
his guitar, rebuilding Harley Davidson motorcycles, reading aviation books and 
attending the Minter Field Air Show. Pallbearers will be Jerry Menendez, Alex 
Menendez, Isidro Urias, Luis Valadez Jr., Luis Valadez III, and Dennis
