Requested by: _mothergrump@netptc.net_ (mailto:mothergrump@netptc.net) The Bakersfield Californian, Tuesday, July 16, 1935 Pg. 9 FORMER LION HUNTER SUMMONED BY DEATH In his younger days a lion hunter in the mountains of Kern County, where he had made his home for the past 40 years, Greenberry M. Logan, 73, passed away at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He had lived intermittently at the county old people's home for the past four years, before that making his home with Mrs. Ora Stubblefield, a sister, at Second and Marsh streets. Besides his lion hunting vocation, Mr. Logan was long in the employ of the Tehachapi Cattle Company and of Miler & Lux. Surviving beside Mrs. Stubblefield, are his widow, Mrs. Jane Logan, and daughters and a son in Bakersfield, Mrs. Minnie Thatcher, Mrs. Alma Hunt, and Harry Logan. Another daughter, Mrs. Lena Melton, lives in Stockton and a son, Ben Logan, in Chico. Mr. Logan leaves also four sisters, Mrs. Rilla Harvey of Los Angeles; Mrs. Frankie Geddes of Bellflower; Mrs. Georgie Bryan of Palo Alto and Mrs. Marcia Lownes of Orctt, as well as 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. The body is at Bakersfield funeral Home, where funeral arrangements have not been completed.
