He was born on July 25, 1920 in Trenton, N.J. After earning a PhD from Ohio State University, Alexander entered the United State Marine Corps where he was wounded in action in the battle of Guadalcanal and was awarded the Purple Heart. He did films training for the military while recuperating. Alexander found a love for the theatre and became the first actor to play the role of Zorro. He was in several commercials thereafter. Being quite versatile and always having a thirst for knowledge, he earned another doctorate degree in chiropractics. Having property in Tehachapi and a love of fresh, clean air, he moved here permanently in 1986. Alexander was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Screen Actors Guild. He left a wealth of knowledge and a love of nature to his family and friends. As he related his life and memories to nurses Pam and Mary of Tehachapi Hospital, he stated that he had a full and happy life and lived it exactly as he wanted and was ready for the next journey. He died with dignity as he had lived it. Alexander is survived by sons, Scott Darson of Tehachapi and Greggory Darson of Northern California; brother and sister-in-law, George and Juanita Peto; niece, Nancy Peto; and nephew, Georgie Peto, all of Columbus, Ohio; and niece, Sandy Kelly of Burbank. Private services will be held in Northern California. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the cremation arrangements. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to the deceased.
