Barbara J. Maxwell
Feb. 9, 1927 Sept. 16, 2004

Barbara J. Maxwell, 77, passed away in Bakersfield after a short but 
courageous bout with cryptogenic organizing pneumonia and heart failuure. 

She was born in Taft where she attended school and worked at Gardner Field 
during WWII and for Standard Oil Company.

In the early 1950s she moved to Bakersfield where she raised a family and 
worked for Union Oil until she retired.

Barbara enjoyed outdoor activities and had a passion for birding and enjoyed 
her cabin at Mammouth Lakes, CA.

She is survived by her son, Fred Guthrie and relatives in Central California, 
Colorado and North Dakota.

Barbara was a very generous and loving person and will be greatly missed by 
all.
