Lawrence L. Truitt
Services: Fri., Sept. 24, 11 a.m.

Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., 
Friday, September 24, at 11:00 a.m. for Lawrence L. Truitt, 80, of 
Bakersfield, who passed away September 22, 2004 in a Bakersfield hospital. 
Pastor Paul DuVich will officiate. 

Mr. Truitt was born February 3, 1925 in Macon, Missouri, and had been a 
resident of Kern County for 58 years. He worked for the Bakersfield Fire 
Department for 30 years, retiring as a Captain. He was a veteran of the U.S. 
Army, having served during WWII, where he earned two Bronze Stars and a Purple 
Heart.

He is survived by his wife, Vera of Bakersfield; son, Larry Michael Truitt of 
Marshall, Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Ureba Suzanne and Mike Driskill 
of Bakersfield; brothers and sisters-in-law, Woodrow and Edie Truitt and 
Walter and Betty Truitt, all of Bakersfield; granddaughter, Stephine Driskill 
of Bakersfield; and grandsons, Jason Truitt of Maryland and Jeremy Truitt of 
Bakersfield; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin today at 3:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River 
Blvd.
