Jose De La Garza, Jr.
Rosary: Tues. Sept. 28th 7:00 p.m. Mass: Wed. Sept. 29th 10:30 a.m.

Jose Junior, 43, was born October 1, 1960 in San Luis Obispo and died 
September 21, 2004 in Bakersfield. A 30 year resident of Kern County, he had 
been employed by Grimmway Farms for over 20 years, His last position was as 
the Harvest Team Manager. He was also in a recent formed partnership with his 
brother David De La Garza in JR Transport, a trucking business. 

Junior is survived by his boys, Jose III, David Anthony, Heriberto and Joshua 
Cruz De La Garza; parents Jose and Maria De La Garza, Sr.; brothers, Ernesto 
and David De La Garza; sisters, Estela Camacho and Connie McPhedran; and many 
nephews, aunts, cousins and many, many friends who loved him. Junior was a 
wonderful person who was loved by all who knew him. He was a great son and 
father, he had a passion for life. He will greatly be missed.

Juniors sons have always been a source of pride to him and in interest of 
furthering their education and opportunities the family requests that in lieu 
of flowers contribution be made to a trust fund in his memory. Contributions 
may be directed to the Jose De La Garza Jr. Trust Fund, C/O Grimmway Farms, 
ATTN: Mandy Harris, P.O. Box 81498, Bakersfield, Ca 93380-1498

Recitation of the Rosary of Jose De La Garza, Jr. will be held at Our Lady 
Guadalupe Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 28th at 7:00 p.m. Mass of 
Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 29th at 10:30 a.m. 
also at Our Lady Guadalupe. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 
Southwest. Pallbearers are Jose De La Garza, III, David Anthony De La Garza, 
Heriberto De La Garza, Joshua De La Garza, Ernesto De La Garza, David De La 
Garza, Xavier Sahagun, Mike De La Garza,, and Joe De La Garza. Visitation will 
be at Doughty-Calhoun-OMeara Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 
5:00 p.m.
