Ramon was born and raised in Rincon, Puerto Rico. After serving with the 65th Infantry Division during WWII and seeing combat in Germany and France, he went to live in New York City. He worked for Whelan Drug, JJ Newberry, and retired from the N.Y.C. Transit Authority. While in New York, he met his beloved wife Juana. They were blessed with two children, Ramon Benito, who proceeded him in death and his devoted daughter, Julie. The core of his being was his family, which included 8 brothers and sisters. Five of his sisters, Feli, Addy, Evangelina, and Nilsa of Puerto Rico and Laura of Massachusetts survive him; his 3 brothers, Felix, Johnny, and Oscar preceded him in death. As an avid fan of the New York Yankees, he watched every game until his passing. He loved to play baseball and coached many youths, while serving on several neighborhood teams. Services will be held in Rincon, Puerto Rico. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to support your local youth ball team.
