Amye J. Dobbs
Services: Friday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m.

Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., 
for Amye J. Dobbs, 76, who passed away September 27, 2004. Rev. Maurice Podder 
will officiate. 

Mrs. Dobbs was born on January 6, 1928, in Paris, Texas, and had resided in 
Kern County for 51 years. She was a longtime member of the Freewill Baptist 
Church. 

Mrs. Dobbs was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James T. Dobbs 
who passed away in 1998. Survivors include her son James David Dobbs of 
Bakersfield; daughters Phyllis Ann Balch and husband John of Ada, Oklahoma, 
Billye Sue Jones, Lynda Gayle Crouch and her husband James, and Terri Gwen 
Jackson, all of Bakersfield; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one 
great-great grandchild; sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Bill Stokes of 
Bakersfield; brother-in-law Junior Hernandez; sister-in-law Billie Luster and 
many nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to her nurses and friends at Californian Care on Mt. Vernon.

Casket bearers will be James D. Dobbs, Cecil Jackson Jr., Bradley Balch, 
Robert Lewis, Lonnie Berhow, and Barnie Holt. Honorary casket bearers will be 
Bill Stokes, Blake Ronk, John Balch, Ricky David Stokes, Rett McGhee, David 
Snipes, Danny Cross, Wayne Painter Jr., Ryan McGhee, Brandon Jones and Tommy 
Ripley. 

Visitation begins Thursday, 3:00 9:00 p.m.
