Lois was born on Oct. 21, 1941 in Smithville, Miss., to parents Olin and Vera Collier. She moved to the Tehachapi area when she was 1 year old. Her father and mother were instrumental in starting the First Baptist Church in Tehachapi. Lois played the piano at the church for 43 years. She loved playing the piano both at home and the church. This was her special ministry. Before retiring, she worked at Cal Portland Cement for 29 years. Lois will be remembered for many things, but most of all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and "Aunt Rea" to everyone. She was a wonderful cook, very organized, extremely truthful and able to see the good in everyone. She was a beautiful lady who will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Lois is survived by her husband, John Christopher of Bakersfield; sons, Richard Lee Walker and his wife Gina, and William Gerrard Walker and his wife Glynnetta, all of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Ricky, Josh, Chad, Anna and Travis Walker; and brothers, William Frank Collier and his wife Lee of Ft. While, Fla., and Roy Collier and his wife Polly, of Tehachapi. Lois was also a special "Grandma" to Ashlee, Jacob, Garret, Leora and Jamie. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Olin Collier in 1995 and Vera Collier in 1997; brothers, Bobby Collier in 1991 and Edwin Collier in 2000; and sister, Janie Collins, in 1994. Reverend John May and Gabe Miles officiated at the service. Interment followed at Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Eastside. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
