Born with Choctaw Native American heritage in Horton, Texas she came west with her father, mother, four sisters and one brother. Her youngest sister born later after settling in Bakersfield, CA. Lahoma married her lifetime husband, Rick, in 1955 as they continued school at Bakersfield High until graduation in 1956. While living in Bakersfield, Lahoma and Rick created their family with the births of Richard, Guy and Terri. The family moved to the Bay area in 1964 where Lahoma accomplished her dream of being a career professional with her employment as Executive Secretary for the Vice President of World Airways. Soon world travel became a significant part of her life traveling to all parts of the globe. This led to her stronger than ever desire to help people. She accomplished her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology and began ministering to those in need. During her 30 years in the East Bay area, she became a very successful Real Estate Agent while helping families attain their dreams of home ownership. Following raising her three children, Lahoma and Rick returned to their hometown where they both were raised and began their family. Her calling was clear to her as she ministered to those in need. She joined the church at the New Life Center where she touched the lives of others. She was loved by many and returned her love ten- fold. Though ill for the last fourteen years, Lahoma persevered selflessly to tell others about her Savior. During her travel in Puerto Vallarta, she met a man in need while on the beach and prayed with him. One day, while shopping, she stopped and prayed for a mother and her son. We are not sure what God has planned for her but, we know God has prepared her for her ascent to be with Him. Lahoma is survived by her husband, Rick Guinn; two loving sons, Rick and Guy; and her loving daughter, Terri. She has three living sisters, Mary, Holly and Debbie; her brother, Lewis and her mother, Suveller. Her grandchildren are Matthew, Guy Jr. Amy and last but not least, Alyssa. They were the loves of her life as she shared many memories with them. Lahoma is predeceased by her father, Andy who influenced her desire to help others and her sisters, Bernice and Theresa whom she loved dearly. Her church family is too numerous to mention, but with all who knew her she enjoyed the love from many. They all wish her a safe journey and ask her to keep the light shining bright for the remainder of us that will follow her to Heaven. Visitation will be held Friday, October 1, 2004 from 1:00 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary.
