The family moved to Oildale, California where she attended Aztec Grade School and graduated from Kern County Union High School in 1927. On June 16, 1928 she married C. Seldon Morley who was employed as a Kern County Agriculture Inspector. The last 16 years of his 44 years with Kern County were as Agriculture Commissioner. Eugenia was actively involved. Her hands knew no idol moments; her mind was never unchallenged. She loved embroidery, knitting, crocheting and many other fine crafts, donating many to Church functions and family members. She made special items for children at Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter. Her love of the kitchen extended from kneading dough and baking bread to family celebrations around her table even into her 90th year. Her recipe collection was enviable. Eugenias family was central. From her husband, son and daughter, to her four grandsons and five great-grandchildren, she continued to set an example of high ethical standards under God. First Christian Church was an active, vital part of her life. She served in many capacities, including Sunday School Teacher, Christian Education Director, Librarian, Circle member and taxi for other members. Beyond the local church, she was a faithful supporter of the California Christian Home, Heifer Project and Holt International. After her children left for college, she was employed at River Boulevard School Cafeteria for 13 years. There she combined her love of chidlren with her skill of cooking. She peacefully left this world on Monday, September 20, 11:30 a.m. She is preceded in death by husband, C. Seldon Morley; brother, William Frazer and her parents. She leaves her son, Laurence S. Morley of Fresno; daughter, Carol J. Duns of Stockton; four grandsons, Martin Morley, Scott Morley, Steve and Scott Duns; and five great-grandchildren; her brother, Clair Frazer of Chico; a sister-in-law, Juanita Morley of Bakersfield; many cousins, nieces and nephews. She requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be sent to First Christian Church of Bakersfield or the charity of the donors choice. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 2, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of First Christian Church, Truxtun and S Streets. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
