Rosary and Holy Mass will be held October 2, 2004, 12:30 p.m. at St. Francis Church, 900 H Street. Followed by the U.S. Army Military Interment at Union Cemetery. Julio was born July 16, 1923, and grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, until coming to Bakersfield in 1935. Julio served our country as a U.S. Army soldier in WWII European Theater. Proudly and happily, Julio laid roots in Fresno, as a small business entrepreneur. Preceded in death by his father, Jose Joaquin Martinez in 1965; his mother, Juana Sosa Martinez in 1988; and his brother, Jack Martinez in 1999. He is survived by brothers, Tom, Louis, Ernie and Rick; sisters, Josephine Rendon, Esther Armenta, Sophie Guedea, Martha Hatfield, Connie Rodriguez, Juanita Dominguez and Virginia Hoffman. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and many relatives. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Michael Armenta, Bobby Guedea, J.J. Martinez, Jack Martinez Jr., John Joseph Martinez and Larry Rodriguez.
