Joanne Elizabeth Loewen

Services: Mon., Oct. 4, 3 p.m. 

Services will be held for Joanne Elizabeth Loewen at Greenlawn Southwest 
Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln., on Monday, October 4, 3:00 p.m. Joanne 
passed away on September 29, 2004 at her home. Pastor Kenny Souers will 
officiate.

Joanne was born October 20, 1936 in Richmond, Indiana to Clarence J. Anne E. 
Cihlar. She was a resident of Bakersfield for 40 years. Joanne was a Marketing 
Director for a Credit Union for 32 years and has been retired since 2000. She 
was recognized for her many efforts and contributions in the community. She 
enjoyed golf, traveling, gambling, bowling, movies and sunsets. 

She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Jo Johnson of Hermosa Beach; son, James 
Robert Thalls of Richmond, Indiana; three grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua and 
Jacob Thalls; and sisters, Elaine Miller of Nuevo, CA, Margaret Louise Faucett 
of Baxter, Tennessee and Florence Jean Hipskind of Cleburne, Texas. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in memory of 
Joanne Loewen to: The American Cancer Society, 1523 California Ave., 
Bakersfield, CA 93304 or Hoffman Hospice, 6501 Schirra Ct., Bakersfield, CA 
93309.

Special thanks to Hoffman Hospice, Coram Health Care and the many friends and 
family members who cared for her throughout her courageous fight with cancer.
