Norma was born on February 27, 1937, in Van Buren, Arkansas to Clyde and Florence Kendig. The family moved to Wasco when Norma was a small child and she attended Wasco Elementary and Wasco High School with the class of 1955. She married Montie Mootry on March 6, 1954, in Wasco. She was an excellent homemaker and interior decorator and took pride in her beautiful home. She loved to cook and the family favorites were spaghetti, tacos, and German chocolate cake; she won her husbands heart with her potato soup and corn bread. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Florence; and brother, Jim Kendig. She is survived by her husband, Montie; sons, Don Mootry, Ken Mootry and wife, Linda all of Bakersfield; daughters, Rebecca Sharp and husband, Rick, Susan Parra and husband, Joe all of Shafter, and Kathrine Garza of Texas; brothers, Euel and Gerald Kendig of Wasco, and L.C. of Shafter and Donnie of Bakersfield; sisters, Jewell of Ft. Smith, AR, Pat Simple of Bakersfield and Margie Russo of San Jose; sister-in-law, Doris Perkins of Delano; 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
