He was born in Berwick, PA and raised in Winnetka, IL. He worked for GTE and ConTel in IL, TX and CA. Don was a past President of the Jaycees and Chamber of Commerce in Streator, IL. He served as Director, VP and President of the Kern County Board of Trade. He was a lifetime member of Hancock Lodge #20, AF&AM in Carthage, IL. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Mary E. Gingher Fester and Earl L. Fester. He is survived by his wife, Roxy; brother, Robert Fester of GA; sisters, Tamara Passarelli and Maribeth Sell both of MO; son, Michael Fester and granddaughters, Coral and Amber Fester of San Francisco; daughters, Patricia Fester of Streator, IL and Laura Fester of Bakersfield, CA; grandson, Jeremy Gear and former wife, Melinda Medlin Fester both of Bakersfield.
