Lee was born on June 15, 1918 to Claude C. and Pearl Hooten Dodd in Polk County, Missouri. On September 5, 1937, Lee married Jimmie B. Chambers, becoming his Little Bride for life. They had 2 children, Joane and Jack. The family moved to Bakersfield in 1948 and Lee worked in the office for Quality Dairy. Later she was personnel secretary for Kern County Land Company. Lee was a devoted member of Calvary Bible Church and was active in the Mission Belles; knitting, baking, and sharing in many projects with wonderful ladies who were true friends. She also had a great time with her Wednesday bridge group for 50 years. These girls were all shrewd at the game and great cooks. Lee made many long-time friends, by Jims side, as they were active in many clubs and organizations. Mom is predeceased by her husband, Jim; granddaughter, Leisha Jenkins Sims; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eura and Elizabeth Dodd, Eugene and Marguerite Dodd; and brother-in-law, Jack Martin. Moms family, left to love and honor her, are daughter, Joane Bispo and husband, Joe; son, Jack Chambers and wife, Linda. She was Nonny Lee to the following grandchildren: Leslie Chitwood, Jeff Chambers, Jennifer Boll, Darcy Webster, Dodd Chambers; step-grandchildren, Steven Bispo, Brad Bispo and Jennifer Bispo. She also had 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jessie Kathryn Martin of Overland Park, Kansas, Johnnie June Allen and husband, Eric of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, and a host of nieces and nephews who were deeply loved. Mom set a fine example as a believer in Jesus Christ, as a lady, and as a loyal friend. She touched the souls of everyone and she will be in our hearts forever. She was loved by many and she will be deeply missed. Our deepest thanks to Sharon, Claudia, Diana, Amanda, and many others at Optimal Hospice.
