Lucy A. Besselson

Lucy Besselson passed away on September 28, 2004, in Ridgecrest. She was born 
on December 22, 1955, in Artesia, CA to Garrett and Lucille Besselson. Lucy 
grew up in Orange County. She married in 1971 to John McNulty and had a 
daughter, Carrieann in 1971. She was later remarried to Arthur Smith in 1977 
which she had two daughters, Amanda and Melanie. They moved to Bakersfield in 
1982 where she enjoyed being a homemaker, doing crafts and was always helping 
others. 

She is survived by her mother, Lucille Besselson; her sisters, Judith and 
Theresa and their daughters; her own daughters, Carrieann Pruett and husband, 
Joe and their children, Ashley, Matthew, Heather and Brandon; daughter, Amanda 
Armstrong and husband Darren and their two boys Britton and Kaleb; daughter, 
Melanie Smith and her daughter, Ariel and unborn son, Hayden.

She will be greatly missed by all. We invite those who knew and loved her to 
join us in saying goodbye. A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest 
Memorial Chapel in Bakersfield, October 7, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Bill 
Logan will officiate. Reception to follow.
