Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Byron K. Johnson, born to his parents, Sampson, Jr. and Phyllis A. Johnson, September 11, 1959, at Miss Friese Maternity Hospital in Bakersfield, California. Byron attended Col. Baker and graduated from Bakersfield High School. Byron was very active in his Love of Sports. He played Jack Frost Football under the direction of Paul Watkins, Coach, and active in Track & Field during his high school years. Byron had a brown belt in Marshal Arts. Byron was united in marriage to Brenda Cade, April 27, 1979 and to this union two sons were born Byron K. Jr. and Desmond Johnson. Byron was last employed as an electric utility worker, I.B.E.W. Union 1245, previously employed by Bakersfield Fire Dept. (school summer job program), Pacific Foundry Oil Fields and PG&E. Byron returned to college in 2002 and graduated from Bakersfield College in 2003, receiving his AA degree. Byron was his own self-man, he loved his family, respected his friends, was very outspoken, thoughtful, compassionate and had a loving heart. He was ready at all times to debate any sport with you. Bryon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donald and Velma Wilson; brother, Donald Johnson. He leaves to mourn his homegoing his mother, Phyllis A. Johnson; sons, Byron K. Johnson, Jr. and Desmond Johnson; grandmother, Edith Sherman; sister, Marcella and Littleton Murphy of Castiac, CA; special cousin, Cassie Holt; close friend, Ricky Brown; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins. Byron shall be missed by those who knew and loved him. Thank you for all your kindness. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and technicians at San Joaquin Hospital ICU.
