Degra Marie Brown-James, 44, was born to Ray and Frances Brown on August 27, 
1960 in Abilene, Texas. Dedria Kay, the name she was given at birth, or D.D.K. 
as she was called, was raised in Bakersfield, California. D.D.K. was the 
second child and the oldest sister of five siblings. She is preceded in death 
by her mother, Frances Brown; grandmothers, Vera Wyatt and Rosalee Noble; and 
grandson, Tramell Taylor Jr.

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Degra Marie Brown-James, 44, of 
Bakersfield, CA will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at St. 
John Baptist Church, 1300 E. Brundage Lane. Interment will immediately follow 
in Union Cemetery.

A viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, 2004, beginning at 
1:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Beloved Care Funeral Services, 115 18th Street, 
Bakersfield, CA with a meditation / wake scheduled from 6:00 8:00 p.m. For all
