Roy leaves behind his wife, Carolyn whose broken heart will never mend from his passing. Roy is also survived by his mother, Hazel; 6 siblings; his sister, Nancy; brother, Billy; sister, Mary; sister, Debbie; brother, Rob & sister Patty; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He will be missed beyond words by his wifes family and from all his friends from the Mission Hospital Oxygen group and friends he made but never forgot in Bakersfield. Everyone who had a chance to really know Roy could not help but be touched by his special magic. His quick wit, keen mind and sharp observations kept you on your toes. His rough exterior belied his gentle manner and loving ways. He was a thoughtful, kind and loving husband and the dictionary does not hold enough words to describe his affection and caring. Roy was a natural born sailor and liked to sail the Pacific, his ashes will be scattered in the blue Pacific he loved so much. He was an avid collector of all things nautical and his dream was to sail to Hawaii but life cut him short and he now sails on the clouds above us. In deepest gratitude to Abdul and Fatima for allowing Roys wife to spend time at his bedside in his last weeks on earth. A very special thanks to the nurses and staff at the TCU at Mission Hospital as well as all the doctors from the Mission Internal Medical Group who made every effort to accommodate Roy and made his final moments serene. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mission Hospital, Attn: Jim Barnett, 27700 Medical Center Road, Mission Viejo, CA 92691.
