Schieber June 19, 1923 October 10, 2004 Services: Fri., Oct. 15, 11 a.m. June Schieber, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, died peacefully on Sunday morning. Raised in Arvin by parents, Edgar and Ferrol Combs, June married John Schieber on January 17, 1942, and they happily celebrated their 62nd anniversary this year. After Johns service in the Army, the Schiebers began a family and farmed in Arvin, Wasco, and Tulelake, California. When John began his career with the Siskiyou County Department of Agriculture, the family also lived in Dorris and Yreka, and then returned to Tulelake. Upon retirement in 1981, John and June returned to Wasco to be near their grandchildren as they grew up. Junes life was defined by her love of music and her devotion to Gods Word. She began singing while still in high school, and throughout her life she was a sought-after soloist for weddings, funerals, and other occasions. Her combined loves for music and teaching gave her opportunities for ministries at churches and womens camps throughout California and Oregon. Junes love for the Bible led to a strong discipline of personal study and created unexpected teaching opportunities. Her courses on The Tabernacle and The Twelve Tribes of Israel were particularly inspiring. Many lasting and treasured friendships began in Junes classes. Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers, Buzzy, Hulet and Weslie; and, last April, her beloved husband, John. June is survived by her four children, David and wife, Jan of Bakersfield, Debby Steward and husband, Gary of Wasco, Julie of Lake Havasu, Arizona and Sam of Sacramento; extended family Bonnie and Larry Crawford, De Mondalto and Bob Rennicks; four grandchildren, John Steward and wife, Tanya, Courtney Kearnes, Matthew Steward and wife, Jessica and Kelli Theaker and husband, John; ten great-grandchildren, Gary, Loren and Aidan Steward, Jarred and Taylor Kearnes, Michaela and Sawyer Steward, and Colton, Lucas and Olivia Theaker.
