Charles Fred Hockett
Services: Friday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 15, at 10:00 a.m., at Mish 
Funeral Home for Fred Hockett, 84, who passed away on October 10. Pastor Larry 
Blevens of Greenfield First Southern Baptist Church will officiate. Burial 
will follow at Shafter Cemetery. 

Fred was born April 19, 1920, in Santa Maria, CA and has been a resident of 
Kern County for many years. He was employed by the County Road Dept. for 6 
years and then moved on to work for the County Fire Dept. retiring as a 
Captain after working for 24 years.

Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, June and their 
daughter, Carolyn Lindsey. Survivors include sons, Bill and wife Karen, James 
and wife, Leah, David and wife, Cyndi; daughters, Margaret Dyer and husband, 
Dave, Laura Studer and husband, Frank, Marilyn Ratzlaff and husband, David, 
Sarah Searcy and husband, Ronnie; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren 
and sister, Maybel Vestal.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 14, 2004 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mish Funeral 
Home.
