Ida Mae Tinsley
May 7, 1932 - October 13, 2004

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2004, 11:00 a.m., in the 
Chapel of The Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary, 1003 E. Stowell Rd., in Santa Maria for 
Mrs. Ida Mae Tinsley who passed away October 13, in a Bakersfield hospital. 
Dr. Charles N. Gibbs will officiate. Burial will follow in the Santa Maria 
Cemetery. 

Ida Mae was born and raised in Santa Maria, CA, attending local schools and 
graduating from Santa Maria High School in 1950. She then lived in Santa 
Barbara, CA briefly and returned to Santa Maria. She formerly worked for 
Southern California Gas Co. for a number of years and then worked as a Child 
Support Officer for the Santa Barbara County District Attorneys Office for 
over 22 years retiring in 1994. Since retirement she has been a resident of 
Bakersfield where she developed a large group of friends who were very special 
to her and held her in high regard. She became involved in numerous 
organizations and activities including Republican Women. She loved playing 
cards and belonged to several Bridge and Canasta groups. She enjoyed country 
music and kicking up her heels at the Crystal Palace. She also enjoyed eating 
out with friends, swimming, champagne, vodka martinis and Santa Maria Style 
Barbeque.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly and was 
always there when her family needed her.

Survivors include her sons, Grant Tinsley of Ladera Ranch, CA and Kirk Tinsley 
of Phoenix, AZ; her grandchildren, Chris, Eric, Corey and Carly Tinsley all of 
Phoenix, AZ. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Tom S. Tinsley 
who died May 27, 1991.

For those friends planning to order flowers for Idas service, her favorite 
color of flower was Yellow.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 18, 2004, from 4-7 p.m. at the 
mortuary.
