All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/obits/obitsca/obitsca.htm ********************************************************** File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: K T bluewolf@onemain.com October 16, 2004, 7:29 pm The Bakersfield Californian Latife Maron 6/25/1924 - 10/13/2004 Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7 p.m. at Hopson Mortuary, 620 Oregon Street and Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 1515 Baker Street for Latife Maron, 80, of Bakersfield who was taken to Heaven on October 13th while surrounded by her loving children. Reverend Robert Wenzinger will officiate. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Latife was born on June 25, 1924 in Kafroun, Syria to Boutros and Koekab Raphael. She came to the United States in 1947 and orginially settled in Reedley, California. She was introduced to and later married Samuel Maron in 1948, and together they established their home in Bakersfield, California. From their union came four children. She is survived by her beloved children: Michael Stephen Maron, Edward George Maron, Terri Maron Blair, and Diane Maron Haddock. She is also survived by her very special and much loved grandchildren: Adam Haddock, Brandon Blair, Stephanie Haddock, Daniel Blair, Christina Blair, Samantha Maron, and Angela Maron. Other survivors include her sons-in-law, Don Blair and Steven Haddock and daughter-in-law, Marlene Maron. Her surviving siblings include brother, Raphael Raphael and sister, Riafa Raphael. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Maron and sister, Amira Raphael of Kafroun, Syria. Latife was very active with St. Josephs Church since coming to Bakersfield in 1948. A daily churchgoer when able, she assisted with the Altar Society; Hosted the Rosary Club; and participated in the Blessed Virgin Mary Adoration Groups and many other causes. When needed, Latife also assisted in the Rectory by cooking for the Parish Priests. Pallbearers will be David Raphael, Don Blair, Steve Haddock, Adam Haddock, Brandon Blair, and Daniel Blair. Honorary pallbearers include Albert Raphael, Victor Raphael, Mike Raphael, Charlie Raphael, Manuel Raphael and Joseph Raphael. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the following that provided exceptional care to their loving mother: Alpha Anders, MD; Heidi He, NP; Judy Brown, LVN; Richard OReilly, MD; William Nyitray, MD; Nadim Sarkies, MD; and all the staff at Caretran Medical. The family would also like to express their gratitude to those that managed and provided for Latifes daily needs at home over the past 2 years. Their help, support, encouragement and love made our mothers home care and comfort possible: Kay Fanucchi, RN; Charla Morgan, LVN; Kelly Miller, RN; Nancy Evans, LVN; Lynn Henson, LVN; and Jeanne Ingram, LVN. And a special thanks to the most wonderful and caring of caregivers, Trish Caton. Also a special thanks for all the help and love given by Hala Saikali and Terri Lynn Najarian. We love you all.
