Visitation for Lela Ramona Olsen will be held at Basham Funeral care (3312 
Niles St.) on Monday evening October 18, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. 8;00 p.m., and 
graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery (River Blvd.) on Tuesday 
October 19, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. 

Lela Ramona Olsen was born July 25, 1918 in Bakersfield, California and she 
passed away on Friday, October 15, 2004 in Bakersfield with her family by her 
side. Lela is preceded in death by her husband Edward Olsen and she is 
survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Steve Kofman, Sheryl 
and Dean Churchwell; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Dari Olsen, Bill and 
Frances Olsen, & Kathie and John Bennett; and son, Ted Olsen; 15 
grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other 
relatives and friends.

Lelas family was a pioneer family (The Ashbaughs) who settled here in the 
early 1900s. She lived in Bakersfield most of her life. Lela graduated from 
Kern Union High School. She loved to party with family and friends. Lela was a 
loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was 
loved by all that knew her and she will be deeply missed. The family would 
like to thank Optimal Hospice and a special Thank You to Ted and Matthew for
