Funeral services will be held Monday, October 18, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Ruckers Mortuary. Minister Willie Taylor is officiating with interment to follow at Union Cemetery. James settled in Bakesfield, CA in 1976. He was an extremely hard worker and was known for his strong work ethics. He spent many years working in agriculture and other related fields. He enjoyed the simple things in life and kept his life simple and carefree. His family was his world and highest priority. He was a leader and those close to him often referred to him as Chief. James Taylor, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-five years, Eva Taylor; six children, Rosie McDowell and husband, Charles of Lyons, MS, Willie Taylor and wife, Teresa, Anthony Taylor, Larry Taylor and wife, Rita, Fred Taylor and wife, Sarai, Patricia Edwards and husband, Michael all of Bakersfield, CA; twenty grandchildren; three great-grand-children; four nephews; two nieces and a host of other family members and friends.
