Beloved wife of 62 years to Lino Pasquini, loving mother of son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Linda Pasquini; daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Bob Parker; and daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Fernando Marquez; treasured Nona of Jim Pasquini, Jon and Kristi Pasquini, Christopher Pasquini, Erica Parker, Ross and Sara Parker, Philip Lamberson, Trisha and Tom Gangle and step-Nona to Michael Clark, Torre, and Taylor Tobias, John, Lawrence, and Diana Marquez and their families; Big Nona to Paolo and Ariana Pasquini, David Pasquini, and Madeline and Mia Gangle. She is survived by her brother, Henry Polverari; her sisters, Stella McMurtrey and Agnes Lowder; her brother-in-law, Roy Pasquini; her cousins, Gino Sorci and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Bakersfield on February 26, 1924, to Eduardo and Atilia Battini, Ernestine attended St. Josephs School and graduated from East Bakersfield High School in its first four year class. At 16, Ernestine met her first and only love Lino while working at his family restaurant, Fior DItalia on 19th Street. While raising her family, Ernestine worked part-time in her sisters dress shop, the Frock Shop in La Cresta. She later retired from Bakersfield City Schools where she was the attendance clerk for ten years at Chipman Jr. High School. Ernestine was an active member of St. Josephs Church, Italian Heritage Dante Association, Italian Catholic Federation, Echo DeValle Chapter of the American Business Womens Association, and Pacesetters. She was a loving wife and mother, a doting grandmother, and a true friend. She will be missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Optimal Hospice Foundation. A special thanks to Don Baylor of BFMC, Dawn and Amanda of Optimal Hospice, and Joanne Border of Eucharistic Ministries. Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 19th, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Josephs Church. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, River Blvd. Ernestines grandsons and grandson-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
