He was born in La Union, New Mexico and raised in Tulare, CA. He and Zelma were high school sweethearts. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Frank, Ray and Herman. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Zelma of Bakersfield; daughter, Dana Soria; son, Jon Lopez and their spouses; brother, Joe Lopez all of Fortuna, CA; precious grandchildren, Greg Soria, Wendi Molina, Susan McLain, Christian Soria, Lana Lopez and their spouses, Kim Lopez and J.M. Lopez; and five great-grandchildren. He graduated from Tulare Union High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard for almost four years. Ralph retired from Mayfair Market in 1983 and was a member of Retail Clerks Union Local 1036. A Rosary and Mass combination will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 7100 Stockdale Hwy., at 9:00 a.m. today, October 19, 2004. Monsignor Ronald J. Swett will officiate and interment will follow at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield.
