Visitation for Harvey Lee Smith will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 
Niles St.) Tuesday evening, October 19, 2004 from 5-8 p.m., an hour of 
meditation will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the 
Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ (1028 O Street) Wednesday morning, 
October 20, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Alexander Lark will officiate. 
Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. 

Harvey Lee Smith was born April 11, 1950 in Bakersfield, CA and he passed away 
on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 in Bakersfield with his family by his side. 
Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Avery Smith and Hazel Mayweather. 
He leaves to mourn his wife of 32 years, Lois Smith; children, Harvey, Jr., 
Yolanda Green, David, Avery, Melinda, Curtis, and Debra Smith; 7 
grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Avon Thompson, Willie, Pamela, Myron, 
Mary, and Tanya Blackwell, and Edwina McGuire; special friend, Big Richard and 
numerous other family members and friends.

Harvey loved sports and listening to music. He was loved by all that knew him 
and he will be deeply missed. For additional service information, contact
