Christopher Paul Cervantes was taken from his family unexpectedly on October 14, 2004. He was born May 15, 1975. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School and Bakersfield High School where he earned the honor of being an all area offensive lineman. He later earned an A.A. degree from Bakersfield College and graduated from their Culinary School with honors acquiring numerous food service certificates. He had a passion for life which included music, fine food, fine spirits, sports and he had a deep devotion to his God. He was well known for his incredible smile and boisterous laugh, his love for life, and a strong devotion to his son, Christopher M. and family. He was employed by TailGaters on Truxtun Avenue as a Managing Chef. It is here that he was given the opportunity to pursue his passion for the food industry. He joins those who went before him: his grandmother, Mary Cervantes; his uncle, Pat McFaddin; his grandfather, James M. Diaz Sr.; and the love of his life his beloved sister, Jennifer 'Jenny' M. Cervantes. He is survived first and foremost by his soul mate and son, Christopher Michael Cervantes; his mother, Shirley; his father, Louie I.; his brother, Louie P. and sister-in-law, Gina; his sister, Stephanie M. and her fiancé, Van Roberts; his fiancé, Lindsey Dixon; his very special grand-mother, Stella Diaz; his grandfather, Socorro O. Cervantes; his best friend, Walt Noble, and numerous loved family members and friends.
