Beloved wife of 40 years to David L. Goff, loving mother of daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Ray Romines, daughter, Mary Bryant, daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Michael Harvey, all of Bakersfield. Treasured grandmother to 8 grandchildren, David and Dominic Lopez, Josh, Caleb and Jamie Bryant, Michael, Sarah and Marshall Harvey. Precious sister to Juanita, Dorothy, Garnet and Charlotte, Jeane had her own Sassy Club for all her daughters and special adopted daughters, Carmen Smith, Michele Sturge and many others. She had an amazing capacity for unconditional love and we were proud to share her with all she embraced as her own. Jeane was the most wonderfully loving mother anyone could ever have and each of us knew without doubt that we were her absolute favorite. She loved her sons-in-law as though they were born of her own flesh. Jeane was born on December 22, 1924 in DeKoven, Kentucky to Aubrey Wendell and Mary Gertrude Ames. She graduated from high school in Sturgis, Kentucky and was valedictorian of her class. After marrying David, they moved to California where he worked as a carpenter and she worked as a secretary for the unemployment department, before starting their family. Jeanes greatest joy was serving the Lord. She worked as a volunteer for many years at the Crisis Pregnancy Center. She was deeply devoted to her Church, Ridgeview Family Worship Center and was a personal prayer partner to her Pastor, Larry White, who she dearly loved. Jeane was a powerful prayer warrior for the Lord and her unshakeable faith in Christ was a shining example to all who knew her. She loved and appreciated her special prayer partners Linda Morgan, Eleanor Work and Vondia Caruso. Our family would like to extend special thanks to Jeanes primary care physician of many years, Dr. Shiue, current primary physician, Dr. Talieh, the very kind, compassionate staff of Optimal Hospice, especially her wonderful caregivers Sharon Hicks, R.N., Amanda, L.V.N. and Lori Smith, C.H.C Because of their dedication to Jeanes care and comfort, our family was blessed with nearly a year more of priceless time with our precious angel mother. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Thursday, Oct. 21st at Mish Funeral Home, 120 Miner Ave, Oildale, CA. Funeral service will be in the Mish Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, Oct 22 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery on River Blvd. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
