Nancy (Meme) Williams passed away on October 20, 2004. Her family surrounded 
her as the doors of Heaven opened. 

She was born in Dustin, Oklahoma on December 20, 1916. As a young adult Meme 
moved from Oklahoma to California with her family. She was married to Alfred 
Williams in 1935. Together, they lovingly raised four children. She will be 
remembered for her devotion to her family. She was our family historian, our 
prayer warrior, and giver of unconditional love.

Her children, Russell and his wife, Loretta of Porterville, Richard and his 
wife, Penny of Bakersfield, Judy Marchese of Fresno and Brenda Dearmore of 
Bakersfield; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-
grandchildren; two brothers, James Channell of Earlimart and Chelsey Channell 
of Modesto; five sisters-in-law and many cousins, nieces and nephews survive 
her.

The wonderful taste and aroma of her fried chicken and amazing pies will 
always be a special memory for her family. Now together again with Dad in 
Heaven, they will always have our hearts.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 25, at 1:00 p.m., at North 
Kern District Cemetery, Garces Hwy. and Albany Street in Delano. Viewing will 
be Saturday, October 23, from 3-9 p.m. and Sunday, October 24, from 12-9 p.m., 
at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd.
