Eva Phillips Sturtevant

Graveside services for Eva Phillips Sturtevant, 78, of Shafter, will be held 
Tuesday, October 26, at 1:00 p.m., at Shafter Memorial park. 

Eva Grace Woolverton was born in Munday, Texas. She has resided in Shafter 
since 1955. Eva along with her husband Jimmie operated Shafter Dry Cleaners 
for 35 years. Her husband of 42 years went to be with the Lord in 1983. Eva 
had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of the Shafter First Southern 
Baptist Church.

She was blessed when she met the second love of her life, Len Sturtevant. They 
were married for 11 years. 

She is proceeded in death by husbands Jimmie Phillips, Len Sturtevant and 
daughter Patty Mears. She was loved by all who knew her and she truly cared 
about the welfare of everyone.

Eva will be greatly missed by her daughter, Loretta and husband Randy Searcy, 
son; Jimmy Sonny Phillips and wife Cindy, grandchildren Candy Molina, Kimi and 
Husband Adam Hensley, and Vince Searcy, sisters, Loma, Shirley and Melba, 
brothers, Loy, Melvin, Delbert and Frank. She will also be missed by 4 great 
grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces, nephews 
and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, October 25, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Peters 
Funeral Home.
