Verna Lee Stacy
May 1, 1921-October 24, 2004

Thursday, October 28, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., friends, family and loved ones will 
gather at Bakersfield Family Funeral Directors, 701 34th Street for services 
to say goodbye to our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-
Grandmother and Friend, Verna Stacy, who passed away Sunday, October 24, 2004, 
at 5:00 p.m. 

Verna was a very private person. A few of the things that brought a smile to 
her face and ours was her love for her family, cooking and gardening. Verna 
could always make everyone happy with her pot of beans, fried potatoes, 
cornbread and her famous holiday homemade chicken dressing. She touched the 
lives of everyone she met and there will be a huge empty space in the hearts 
of all who knew her and loved her.

Vernas survivors include her daughters, Betty Morris and Retha Cline of 
Bakersfield, Shirley Vance of Paso Robles, Jan Grigsby of Arroyo Grande; her 
sons, Jerry Wayne and Bobby Stacy of Bakersfield; numerous grandchildren, 
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death 
by two sons, Kenneth and Richard Stacy, her daughter, Zena Henderson and her 
loving husband of 63 years, Homer, whom she truly missed and will now be with 
him forever.

A very special heartfelt thanks goes out to Optimal Hospice for all of their 
love and gentle care for Verna and Homer when they were sick.
