Graveside services will be held Friday, October 29, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at 
Greenlawn Cemetery, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield. 

Born in Manton, Michigan, he relocated to California with his parents at the 
age of two. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, and served in World War II 
and the Korean War as a radar man.

He retired as a Captain of the Kern County Fire Department in 1978. After his 
retirement, he and his wife, Bonnie, owned and operated a Seven-Eleven Store 
franchise in Bakersfield. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing poker and 
golfing with his friends at the North Kern Golf Course.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Bever, Sr. and Helen Sanders. 
He is survived by Bonnie, his loving wife of 56 years; daughter, Susan 
DiLauro, her husband, Frank and their sons, Christian DiLauro, Andrew Welker 
and his wife, Jennifer; daughter, Terry Carlton, her husband, Dale and his 
son, Ryan; daughter, Nancy Parker, her husband, Dero and their three children, 
Sara, Drew and Samantha.

George was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed 
by all.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kern County Fire Fighters 
Burn Foundation, located at 3615 Mount Vernon Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93306.

No visitation is scheduled.
