Gilbert July 8, 1918 October 19, 2004 Margo was a beloved daughter, sister, spouse, mother, friend, secretary, county board clerk, church member and caregiver. While Margo had different roles in life, she had a strong sense of right and wrong, and lived her life in that light. Born into the Miller family in Brandon, Iowa on July 8, 1918, she graduated with honors at age 16 from Dysart Consolidated School and in 1939 Margo graduated from Gregg Business School in Phoenix, Arizona. Later in life she took and drafted board minutes for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors and did volunteer work for the San Diego County Employees Retirement Association. Margo loved to travel, both on the North American continent and in Europe. She also loved the theater and for many years attended the San Diego Opera, Starlight Opera and numerous plays. She made certain her children were exposed to the theater including plays like Annie Oakley, Peter Pan and The King and I. She loved getting everyone dressed up and going out as a family to a play or to church. Margo and her husband, Max, who preceded her in death in 2003, were avid church members of two fine churches in San Diego; the First United Methodist Church and the Plymouth Congregation Church, learning from and giving to each. Margo loved each church for their differences and talked frequently about the pastors, their spouses and the many friends they made at each place of worship. Each church provided a different message and ministry. Margo left family who loved her including her sister, Joyce; two sons, Mark and John; daughter, Jill; daughter-in-law, Becky who was with her when she died; two granddaughters, Lisa and Krissy; and great-granddaughter, Hannah. During her last three years, Margo lived and made friends at Carriage House Estates in Bakersfield, CA. The people and place allowed her to enjoy a nice life until the day she died. The family is truly appreciative of the managers, workers, caregiver, residents and entertainers at Carriage House Estates who made Margos last years so active and meaningful. She will be missed by family and friends alike. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
