Rev. Clarence Crites will officiate. Norma Louise Unfried was born in Bakersfield. She attended Bakersfield High, Pasadena College and Point Loma Nazarene University. She taught 25 years in Kern County Schools (1 years at Sierra View Elementary in Arvin and 23 years in the Fruitvale School District). She served 7 years on the Point Loma Nazarene University Almuni Board (secretary for 2 years), was an active past president of the Kern Reading Association for the city. Norma was instrumental in the development and implementation of KRAs Summer Book Blast and Book Talk Tea, events promoting literacy. The California Reading Association gave her one of their highest awards for leadership of a meritorious regional unit (KRA). Norma is survived by her husband of 32 years, Don; son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Rebecca Unfried of Lincoln, CA; son, Jeremiah Unfried of Bakersfield; grandson, Aaron Dabney Unfried; mother, Constance Moore and brother, Arthur Allen Moore III. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Allen Moore Jr., in 1994. Norma loved serving others and she always had a place in her heart, room in her car, a chair at her table, a seat on her porch, and room in her section of Heaven for one more who needed to be loved and a place to belong, but most of all she loved serving her Jesus. The legacy she gave us all was this: All of our days are numbered Live to make each day count for eternity.
