Alex Drew Levin

May 9, 1985 – Oct. 20, 2004

A Celebration of Life memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 26 at the Wood 
Family Funeral Service Chapel for Alex Drew Levin, 19, who passed away in a 
flash flood at the Wildlife WayStation in the Angeles National Forest on Oct. 
20.

Alex was born May 9, 1985, to Gary and Karla Levin. He lived in Tehachapi with 
his mother, attending Monroe High School before moving to Kagel Canyon with 
his dad approximately five months ago to work at the wildlife sanctuary.

Alex lived in the moment and enjoyed life with energy and curiosity. At any 
given time, Alex’s wonderment and creativity were apparent with his love for 
animals and music.

Alex is survived by his mother, Karla Levin of Tehachapi; father, Gary Levin 
of Kagel Canyon; brother, Aaron Levin of Tehachapi; aunts Paula Coe of Simi 
Valley, WenDee Riley and husband Russ of Redding, and Ellen Esterwold and 
husband Mitch of Woodland Hills; cousins Ryan, Heather, Jason, Evan, Janelle, 
Vanassa and Megan; and grandparents.

Alex was a kind and loving young man who will be missed by all who knew him.

His uncle Russ Riley officiated at the service. Wood Family Funeral Service 
handled the arrangements.
