Robert M. Welch

April 28, 1930 – Oct. 27, 2004

Bob Welch, resident of Tehachapi from 1995 to 2002, died peacefully at home in 
Cherry Valley after a brief battle with cancer. He was 74 years old.

A native of California, he grew up in Los Angeles and attended Pepperdine 
College, where he met his first wife, Kay. They were married in 1955 and 
settled in the San Gabriel Valley to raise their family.

Bob and Kay retired to Tehachapi full-time in 1996 and Kay passed away in 1998.

In 2000, Bob married life-long friend Darlene K. Steele. They moved to Cherry 
Valley in 2002, where both continued to pursue their mutual interests in 
Kiwanis and Visiting Nurse Association/Hospice.

Robert is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughter, Jennifer Wuebker of Sun 
Valley, Idaho; daughter, Paula Forrest and husband Brett of Glendora; son, 
Donal Welch of Tehachapi; and grandsons Josef Timchenko and John Young. In 
addition, he leaves a host of loved ones including Charles White, Juan DeAnda 
and the Savoska and Simpson families. His devoted canine companions Maury and 
Lucy will also miss him.

Memorial services were held on Sunday, Oct. 31, at Weaver Mortuary in Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse 
Association of the Inland Counties (Banning office) - Hospice Division, 264 N. 
Highland Spring #4, Banning, CA 92220.
